In 1995 Alfano was created, giving way to the revolutionary invention of using a magnetic strip for timing motorsports. When the vehicle passes over the magnetic strip (using no electricity, just magnets) the magnetic sensor is activated and a signal is sent to the gauge to supply the driver with precise and reliable lap time. Today our Alfano system is the leader worldwide in the magnetic timing field.
         We have equipped over 900 tracks around the world and the list continues to grow daily. Now, our units are designed to work with either magnetic strips or infrared receivers. However, when comparing to alternatives, the accuracy of the magnetic strips remains superior.
         Over the years, Alfano lap timers have evolved to become data acquisition systems. They supply the driver with a wealth of information from extremely accurate lap times to RPM, temperatures , gear positioning, G-Force, speed, shift lights, engine running time,...track mapping... data which can be downloaded to your PC or seen on the screen with a simple touch of a button. The clarity of the display, ease of operation and installation of the unit are unique in the industry.
